Individual Counseling
Sessions for individual counseling will last approximately 50 minutes. Using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) in individual counseling provides methodology towards change. These changes can be specific behaviors, thought processes, reactions towards events or triggers, self-sabotaging thoughts, or problematic coping skills. CBT specifically addresses thoughts, behaviors, and feelings/emotions. DBT is a structured approach with a strong educational component to provide skills for addressing intense emotions and navigating social dynamics. Psycho-dynamic approach can be utilized to understand adverse childhood experiences and processes that an individual has based upon their life experiences.
